Our OU Business School Associate Lecturers come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and specialisms. Showcasing the true ethos of The Open University, open to people, places, methods and practices.
The Psychology degree that I achieved, thanks to The Open University, led to amazing career changes for me. Hence, I know how The Open University can change lives.
I love teaching and research – I get a great buzz out of delivering tutorials, discovering new things in inquiry and get enormous satisfaction in seeing people grow.
I enjoy teaching at the OU for a variety of reasons, but primarily because of the people—the staff and the students. It’s a wonderfully supportive environment that is inclusive, enthusiastic, and adventurous in its collective pursuits.
I studied for my qualifications part-time whilst working and bringing up a family, and so I have a natural affinity with the OU and its learners. As well as teaching at the OU more latterly I have also studied at the OU, and so I have experienced both sides!
I really enjoy working with a wide range of students and always learning things together as we progress through a module presentation, and its especially pleasing to see students progress over that duration.
I enjoy supporting students in my tutor group and am always amazed at the commitment and self-discipline they demonstrate towards succeeding in their studies.
