I have worked with the OU since 2022 on the B328 Marketing in Action module. My early career was spent in data analytics before taking on a number of more senior marketing roles with several FTSE 100 companies. In tandem, I have worked in academia at five different UK universities, lecturing and supervising postgraduate thesies. I studied for my qualifications part-time whilst working and bringing up a family, and so I have a natural affinity with the OU and its learners. As well as teaching at the OU more latterly I have also studied at the OU, and so I have experienced both sides!
As a lifelong learner I have a passion for problem solving, and enjoy studying a diverse range of subjects beyond business, including astronomy and environmentalism. I have published work in a broad range of peer-reviewed business, scientific and astronomical journals. I am a fellow of several professional business and scientific bodies, and remain active in research.
Like many of my colleagues, I am an advocate for open education and widening access to education for all learners. The OU’s flexibility, inclusivity and caring learning environment are unique in so many ways.
