The School has five academic departments:

• Department for Accounting and Finance

• Department for Policing Organisation and Practice
• Department for Public Leadership and Social Enterprise

Academic departments provide curriculum leadership and contribute to research that takes place both within and across departmental boundaries. Department teams include academics who are practising leaders in their fields, visiting experts, specialist research staff and postgraduate students – all supported by administrative colleagues. The result is a dynamic, collaborative approach to business research and academic programme development that is engaged with the real needs of international business, industry and government.

Roles

Academic

With a pioneering research reputation, an enthusiastic approach to collaborative research and teaching, and with flexible study and research leave, OUBS attracts leading academics from around the world – from lecturers to Professors and Emeritus Professors.

Teaching at OUBS is about transforming concept and theory into vivid and stimulating multi-media learning materials and activities. Course development is a dynamic, collaborative process – with subject specialists, learning technologists, and sector and industry experts working together creatively and innovatively to produce learning materials that are of such high quality that two thirds of the UK's biggest universities use them too.

Administrative and professional services

The work of OUBS is supported by professional services staff working in the following administrative areas:

• Curriculum Management – managing programme delivery to students.
• Student Experience – responsible for aspects of the student experience relating to curriculum management.
• Strategic Planning and Resource Management – encompassing strategy development and support, HR and finance.
• Research and Enterprise – provides leadership and support for the Research Degrees Programme, research and enterprise activities.
• Stakeholder and Alumni Engagement – responsible for communications and Alumni relations.
