Intelligent Operations and Resilient Supply Chains

The Intelligent Operations and Resilient Supply Chains (IORSC) research cluster carries out cutting-edge research and co-creates sustainable solutions with the stakeholders. Supply chains and operations are facing enormous challenges due to ongoing disruptions, especially in critical sectors such as healthcare, food, textiles, automotive, and energy.

New innovative ways and various intelligent options are required for managing and operating businesses to rebuild necessary resilience. Additionally, addressing challenges arising from the transition from linear to circular economic models to support sustainability requires managing different operations and supply chain management areas together from a holistic perspective.

To tackle such challenges, this cluster brings together key stakeholders, including a group of academics in Operations and Supply Chain Management, practitioners, and policymakers.

About us

In 2023, two academics with expertise in operations and supply chain management, Dr. Khadija Tahera and Dr. Oznur Yurt, founded the cluster with the goal of strengthening ties between practitioners and policy makers outside of the university as well as encouraging global collaboration and exchange between practitioners and academics.

Areas of expertise

The cluster members work on the following two themes broadly:

  1. Sustainable and resilient supply chain systems
  2. Intelligent operations systems and product innovation.
