I teach B206 Understanding Customers at the OU.
I have taught all levels of business and marketing modules, both UG and PG, at previous institutions including Manchester Business School, and the University of Buckingham, where I wrote most of the modules I taught. Prior to working in Higher Education, I managed and taught CIM professional marketing courses for a number of private professional training providers, alongside owning my own business and marketing consultancy, which allowed me to work flexibly while raising my young family. I arrived at that decision after over 15 years in business management across the corporate, not-for-profit and public sectors, and most importantly, having achieved my MBA with the Open University.
I started delivering learning at the Open University thirteen years after graduating with the OU, and a year after I joined the OU as a Student Experience Manager. After only a year without students, I missed teaching, so applied successfully to be an Associate Lecturer and have delivered B206 since 2021. I have also taught B207.
I teach because I enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting students to find their lightbulb moment where a theory finally makes sense, or referencing suddenly becomes easy! And I know how much achieving a degree means to many of our students and what a life-changing experience it can be. I feel privileged to be a part of this, for people I will never meet…
I am part-Ecuadorian and part-Colombian so have had extended visits while growing up, and have a lifelong love for travel – the bucket list never shrinks, I just add more places!
