Mary Longhurst

Associate Lecturer, The Faculty of Business & Law

Mary joined the Open University in 2021. She tutors on B302 (Strategic Management), B328 (Marketing in Action) and B207 (Shaping Business Opportunities).

Mary has over 30 years of experience working in public relations and marketing and ran her own consultancy for over 20 years. She has an MSc in Public Relations, an MBA and a PhD in CSR and its communication in India and the UK.

Having gained many years of experience working across a wide variety of businesses and sectors, Mary decided to apply her experience to tutoring with the OU where she had completed her MBA. Having worked while completing her MBA, Mary appreciates the value that studying and working together offers, and understands the challenges it brings. She therefore wanted to be part of the OU team as she believes it offers some of the highest quality materials, teaching and student support. She enjoys the flexible approach and support it offers for both students and tutors.

Mary is a regular sea swimmer, enjoys cycling, walking and is currently writing her first novel.
