Edward P. Marram, Ph.D

Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Geo-Centers, Inc

Dr. Marram was the founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Geo-Centers, Inc. from 1979-2005 when it was sold to SAIC.  From a single person start-up he grew Geo-Centers to a company of over $200 million in revenue and 1400 employees providing services and expertise to the Department of Defense in critical technological areas such as countermine detection, chemical biological defense, energetic materials and propellants, toxicology, remediation of ordnance and hazardous, toxic, and radiological waste, biomedical research, and others 

Dr. Marram’s expertise led to his service on the United States Department of Defense Science Board focusing on Defense Technology strategy, Management and Acquisition and reviewing the state of the Department’s science and technology efforts as well as evaluating biological threats to the homeland.  Additionally, he formed and headed a red team for the Marine Corps to analyze and evaluate the utilization of Nuclear Quadrapole Resonance (NQR) in the detection of explosives.  

On the academic front, Dr. Marram has taught in the Graduate School of Babson College since 1987 and as a Professor of Practice since 2023.  He developed the framework and content for the Managing Growing Businesses course, has taught graduate level and executive education courses, and has developed and taught more than 25 cases.   He has recently been asked to create a Growth Institute at Babson College in order to bring excellence to growing companies as they strive to create a successful management team who can profitably achieve the goals of the organization.  

Dr. Marram has taught business practices to faculty, graduate students, and entrepreneurs in the United States, South America, and in both Eastern and Western Europe and has developed executive training programs in Scotland and in France.
