Dr Jay O’Connor

Jay is a senior advisor to organisations on stakeholder governance, communications, and change and transformation, collaborating with boards and senior management teams across diverse sectors, geographies and organisations, including global businesses, start ups, research institutions and non-profits. Her experience blends communications expertise and consultancy leadership with doctoral research in governance, complexity and stakeholder analysis to deliver evidence-based strategies that align with shifting policy and geopolitical contexts.  

Jay is a Chartered Director and International Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD); Associate of the IoD Centre for Corporate Governance and co-author of a paper on effective stakeholder governance. She holds a PhD in Political Science from UCL and Masters’ degrees in Media & Communications (LSE) and Democracy and Comparative Politics (UCL); she is a former President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR); former chair and committee member for education and professional standards at the IoD and CIPR and a former lecturer in European Public Relations Practice at Syracuse University.
