I am a doctoral researcher in the department for policing at the Open University. My background is in Psychology (BSc, MSc) but I am passionate about research into police officer stress and mental health because I recognise the unique challenges they face daily. Officers are constantly exposed to high-stress situations, trauma, and danger, which can take a significant toll on their mental health, emotional health and decision-making. I’m driven by the desire to support and advocate for the mental health needs of those who protect our communities. Ensuring they have access to proper resources and care is essential for their own safety and effectiveness on the job.
Prior to PhD study, I have experience teaching Psychology & Research Methods in Higher Education (FHEA). Alongside my PhD, I am a research assistant within the department of policing and an educator for international organisations, delivering training to global companies on stress management, resilience, burnout and mental Health in demanding work environments (L.E.Davies Consultancy).
