I teach strategy and innovation in both the Business and Law (FBL) and STEM faculties at the Open University (OU). This includes MBA modules such as B873 Effective Strategic Management in Business & the Public Sector, B875 MBA Project: Leaders of Change, T849 Strategic Capabilities for Technological Innovation and TB801 Technology and Innovation Management. I also tutor on the undergraduate B302 Strategic Management module.

My professional background includes 10 years working as an International Marketing Manager with a US multinational and 10 years as a strategy consultant. I have been working in higher education full-time for 24 years with a number of universities including the University of Worcester (Senior Lecturer Innovation & Entrepreneurship), Coventry University (Assistant Professor Strategy) and the University of Portsmouth (Senior Lecturer Strategy and Innovation).

My research interests are platform companies, digital disruption and artificial intelligence and I have published several books and papers across these disciplines.

I chose to teach at the OU after completing my MBA with the university (1991 -1993) because I was so impressed with the experience as a student. I enjoy teaching at the OU because it brings me into contact with student practitioners from industry as well as enabling me to network with a broad range of interesting and talented people.
