Nicky Mee

Hello everyone.

My name is Nicky Mee. I teach a wide range of subjects including access (arts, psychology, law/business), communications for business and a wide range of marketing and business modules from Level 1 to Level 3. My background is in journalism, communications and marketing in the public, private and voluntary sectors. I started working at the OU part-time in 2011 as I wanted to broaden my online teaching. I already had many years of working fulltime and also teaching face-to-face part time. I was attracted to the OU due to its reputation in online learning, its openness to all abilities and its longevity, roots and success in distance learning.

I love everything about teaching at the OU – the modules, variety of work and social opportunities, the lovely colleagues, the chance to develop yourself - and since 2013 I have also been a student at the OU studying a degree in arts, MA in online and distance education and a degree in law (finished in 2025).

A few interesting facts about me. I am a keen comper (quizzer on TV and competitions offline and online). I am an animal lover with a ‘mini-zoo’ at home. I also enjoy social media, swimming, cycling and studying.
