B207-Shaping business opportunities and B328 Marketing in action.

I have extensive experience in teaching on a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional Programmes. I previously worked as a buyer for British Aerospace and Massey Ferguson.

My main area of expertise is advertising and branding. I research videogames and branding and more specifically how gamers process brands my research has been presented at the European Marketing Academy and Academy of Marketing.

I work on live briefs with Postgraduate students e.g., Manchester City, the Happy Linen Company, Castore. I have taught on corporate programmes for Tesco, Booths and am currently leading Managing Digital Brands for the Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeships and teaching students from BBC, Bentley and Pearson.

I have been involved for more than 20 years in assessing and marking of examinations for CIM and CIPS. I am currently Senior Examiner for the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) for Contemporary Challenges and Creating Entrepreneurial Change. I am a Fellow of the CIM.

I am a judge for the Don't Panic Awards and judge the Northern Digital Awards, UK Company Culture Awards and UK Content and PR Pro Awards.

I studied my master’s with the OU and when I wanted to develop my skills in online teaching and learning I applied to the OU because of its expertise in this area.

I enjoy teaching mature students who are working as their work experience enhances their learning. Moreover, it is very rewarding to help students attain a degree qualification.
