I teach on B329 which is about leadership and B126 which is about data analysis and decision-making in finance.

I have a PhD in organisational behaviour. My PhD research was entirely quantitative, hence my general comfort with data analysis. Leadership is an area that I kind of fell into teaching, through being involved in research around teamworking and health services management.

I started teaching at the OU in 2009, so I’m well and truly a veteran now. I actually started teaching on a Masters in Research Methods (which no longer exists – and no, I didn’t kill it), which fitted neatly with my previous teaching and research experiences. I really like teaching at the OU because of the interaction with students and their varied background and reasons for engaging with higher education.

In terms of other interesting facts…well, maybe not interesting, but probably pertinent, I am also a Student Experience Manager, so pretty much all my life revolves around the OU, whether in a management or teaching capacity.

And for a more fun, but entirely less pertinent fact, one of my party pieces is to gargle to the theme tune of Dallas (showing my age now!) or the Irish National Anthem. And I also take requests!!
