Would you like to enrol on a free short course to increase your skillset in a crucially important area?
The Open University is offering free access to two new short courses of interest to business professionals, as part of a pilot project running until January 2019. You can gain access for free on either of the two courses below. In return, we simply ask for your feedback via a short survey provided within each course, to help us develop these courses for production next year! Both courses are structured into three weekly sections, however they are self-paced and you can sample as much or as little of the course content as you like until January.
The significant impact of culture on the workplace often goes unrecognised. Increasing your own awareness and understanding of how different cultures shape behaviour, communications and management styles can have a profound impact on the way that we work. This 3 week online shortcourse will help you to improve your communication and relationships with colleagues, business partners and customers in multicultural contexts and provide you with strategies to unlock the great potential of working effectively across cultures.
Business with China is on the increase. Beyond the dos and don'ts of cultural etiquette, more businesses are recognising the need to develop a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and values to establish long-term successful relationships with China. This 3 week short course will introduce you to some core Chinese cultural beliefs and values significant within business relationships and equip you with the skills to navigate potential challenges when working with the Chinese culture. The course features real stories and reflections from westerners who have lived and worked in China to give you authentic insight into potential work scenarios and to ensure you succeed in your own intercultural encounters and business objectives.
