Biography

Wale previously worked as Senior Lecturer at Coventry University London, where he served as Course Director (Global Business Top up), MBA Program coordinator, Simulated learning leader and Module leader (International business strategy, Sustainable strategy, 'Sustainability and the environment' and Global business simulation project). He specialised in the subject of Strategy and taught a range of strategy related modules which include Strategy Management, International Business Strategy and Sustainability Strategy. 

Wale is a Business Simulation Instructor and specialises in achieving effective pedagogy through simulated environments, facilitating learning through use of various business simulation tools. His passion for personal development informed his change of career from financial services to learning and development where he uses the skills developed in previous responsibilities to function as an effective teacher. Prior to academia, Wale worked in Financial Services Industry (FSI) for almost a decade as Account and Relationship Manager focusing on financial service industry and Oil & Gas services. He also served as key liaison officer on implementation of the bancassurance business model in two top banking groups in Nigeria where he was part of teams that engaged in re-engineering, system turn-around and SBU.  Having had over 20 years’ experience as owner/manager, he engages in management consultancy for SME and start-ups and hosts Business Action Learning Set meeting - A business coaching session for new businesses and intending entrepreneurs, where he facilitates business ideas generation, critique, action reviews, goal setting and strategy formulation, for a non-profit organisation- Global Harvest. 

Wale holds an MBA with Merit in Finance from Coventry University UK and Postgraduate qualification with Merit in High Education Professional Practice from Coventry University UK. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA) UK.

Current research

The Role of Effectively Tailored Capacity Building Efforts in Institutional Entrepreneurship Towards Achieving Sustained Successful Entrepreneurship in Nigeria and Uganda

Wale's research interest is in Entrepreneurship development in the Sub-Sahara African setting. He is particularly interested in the challenges of sustaining successful entrepreneurship. Wale is studying the determinants of high business mortality especially in government-led entrepreneurship development programme, and inhibitors of transition from subsistence to transformational entrepreneurship that could help developing nations achieve economic transformation, which is the primary goal of most institution-led entrepreneurship programmes. He is studying them by examining amongst various contextual influence, cognitive dimension of the social context, and capability development. He aims to develop an understanding of how effective capability development shape entrepreneurial behaviour in the face of contextual influences, and possibly ensure entrepreneurial transition and longevity in the developing economies.
