Vice Chancellor’s statement on the war in Ukraine

We are appalled and horrified by the scenes of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

We condemn this unprovoked act of war and stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, in the defence of their sovereignty, independence, and democratic freedoms.

Our thoughts are with Ukrainian citizens who are in harm’s way and those fleeing the war.

We are concerned for our Open University students and staff both based here and in Ukraine and Russia, who will be personally affected by this crisis and are in contact with them to offer support and signpost them to services.

For all students and staff affected by this situation, our thoughts are with you and your loved ones.
