Students will benefit from collaboration with Zoho Books

As part of our new BSc Accounting and Finance degree, the Business School has agreed to collaborate with Zoho Books which is part of Zoho, a leading cloud-based company which provides various solutions to streamline business processes.

This collaboration aims to empower students to gain practical accounting experience. Zoho has agreed to allow those studying B250 Intermediate Financial Accounting, free access to its full suite of accounting software, Zoho Books, for the duration of their module studies.

Zoho Books is a renowned accounting software which helps businesses manage accounting operations on a unified platform, offering cloud accounting features to track finances, prepare for VAT, and file VAT returns directly with HMRC, while also automating business processes and facilitating collaboration across different departments.

This is a great opportunity for our accounting students. Having access to real, professional accounting software during their studies will not only increase the authenticity of their study activities but will also significantly increase their employability as future professional accountants.

“So far, we have only launched the Level 1 modules but already have more than 1,200 registered students. The Level 2 and 3 modules will roll out over the next 18 months. With these kinds of figures, the new degree is shaping up to be one of the UK’s largest accounting and finance degrees.

"The OU caters to a wide diversity of students so, for us, ease of use was a crucial factor in selecting a software partner. We found Zoho Books not only offers the full suite of functionality we expect from professional accounting software but also to be highly intuitive to use.”

Kevin Amor
Lecturer in Accounting and Financial Management and Qualification lead

With both parties exploring further opportunities for this partnership, this is hopefully just the beginning of the OU's collaboration with Zoho Books.
