New External Advisors join OUBS’ Masters Programme Committee

The Open University Business (OUBS) is pleased to announce two new External Advisor appointments. Dr Priya E. Abraham has been appointed as the External Industry Advisor and Professor Colin Beard joins as the External Academic Advisor.

Dr Abraham and Professor Beard will be members of the Masters Programme Committee which reviews the MBA, MSc Finance and MSc HR Management programmes and monitors the progress of each cohort of students. The Open University appoints External Advisers in order to gain insight from their direct experience of relevant standards in other universities, comparable HE institutions and from the business world.

Each Advisor will participate in the activities of the Masters Programme Committee to advise on the requirements for the programme’s qualifications and the appropriateness of the modules within the degrees. They will also comment on future developments of the qualification and the development of new qualifications within the programme and submit an annual report on the programme to the University.

Priya is a former professor and senior consultant at a leading UK business school, turned start-up entrepreneur. She has an OU MBA and an MA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Vienna.

Colin’s international consultancy work over the last year has involved working with many corporate and public body clients. He is Professor of Experiential Learning at Sheffield Business School, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Chartered Fellow CIPD.
