This workshop aims to bring supply chain professionals and researchers together to discuss which skills and capabilities for supply chain professionals working in the service industry are needed in the market, as well as what the universities can do better to develop and support these capabilities and skills. In this workshop, future collaboration opportunities between researchers and practitioners will also be discussed.

In the first part (morning sessions) of the workshop, speakers from industry and universities will reflect on their views. In the second part (afternoon sessions), panel discussions will take place, which will be followed by focus group studies.

By sharing ideas through focus groups, the project team will collect data to develop theoretical knowledge and gain insights. Additionally, supply chain professionals will have the opportunity to get to know the current environment and challenges of service supply chain management. This knowledge might be applied to their own work environment, besides being able to build their network and identify new business opportunities.

For those attending a focus group, support with your travel expenses is available, please contact us at FBL-Research-Support@open.ac.uk for a travel claim form.
