Textual Analysis in Finance and Accounting
The long-term shift in temperature and weather patterns resulting from human activity has the potential to destabilise global financial markets and represents the greatest challenge economies currently face. Governments in response have committed to the delivery of sustainability goals which can only be achieved with large scale investment by companies to create a sustainable circular economy. The disclosure of transparent information by companies is seen as a pre-requisite to the achievement of these goals. My research proposal seeks to harness advanced machine learning to identify patterns and trends in stakeholder responses that remain obscured in traditional numerical data analyses.
