Profile summary

Professional biography

Yue is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Digital Marketing at Open University Business School. Her research interests focus on esports and gaming, digital transformation in marketing and branding, communication strategies and HR practice in various cultural settings. She specialises in esports research focusing on esports ecosystems, talent and career development, and policymaking, and has international collaborations with AESF (Asian Electronic Sports Federation) and many esports clubs. She completed her doctoral studies in Marketing at Leeds University Business School, where she explored how consumers respond to sponsorship initiatives during the Olympic Games.

Yue’s work has been published in the European Journal of MarketingInternational Journal of Human Resource Management, Information Technology & PeopleJournal of Business ResearchSport Management ReviewPersonnel Review amongst other journals. She also published chapters in major marketing and sports management textbooks. She co-authored the SAGE book Business Research Methods for Chinese Students.

Sustainability in esports including business models, fan experiences, professional careers development, and policies;

Application of new technology in gaming and marketing;

Corporate sustainability and HR practice; 

International communication strategy.
