I'm a scholar-activist and PhD researcher at the Open University, UK. My interdisciplinary PhD research, supervised by Prof Caroline Clarke and Dr Matthew Cole, explores the organisation of the animal advocacy movement in the UK and how animal advocacy/vegan organisations resist anthropocentric discourses. Before joining the OU, I studied Politics and Sociology at Durham University and completed a British Council-funded master's in Management from Newcastle University in 2022. I have been an animal activist and environmentalist since 2017 and worked with various animal advocacy organisations in the UK and Turkey, including The Vegan Society, Animal Equality, The Humane League, and The Save Movement.
My research interests include critical animal studies, veganism, activism, ecofeminism and social change.
