Professional biography
Kevin is a Lecturer at the Open University Business School. He is a Chartered Accountant who trained with Price Waterhouse in London. Following a fifteen-year career in real estate investment and development, including directorships of various investment funds, he went into corporate training and academia. Kevin has run global management programmes for companies such as Unilever, British Airways, BP and Credit Suisse. Kevin has been teaching at the OU since 2008.
His current research interests are:
a) modellng financial bubbles using log-periodic power laws, as applied to the real estate sector;
b) various applications of agent-based modelling including the role of leadership and luck in management success, the role of luck in the driving of house prices and wealth accumulation via property investment, as well as investigating the efficiency of developing stock markets.
Kevin’s is currently the lead on the production of the OU's new BSc in Accounting and Finance. He also currently sits on or chairs a number of postgraduate modules.
Kevin also offers financial training to corporate clients by way of his consultancy. He has first degrees in both mathematics and physics, as well as a Master's degree in online and distance learning.
