Centre for competency development and employability for students of the Russian-Tajik Slavic University

This project focused on improving employability skills of the Russian-Tajik Slavic University (RTSU) students in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, through updating existing RTSU curricula with digital assets and designing online courses.

The key outcome of the project was creation of The Centre for competency development and employability at RTSU.

The three main strands of project work were:

  • Modernising RTSU curricula by bringing them in line with demands of the labour market
  • Creation of the open online learning portal at RTSU
  • Redesign of the RTSU learning pathways by creating an open online portal and giving greater salience to blended and online learning forms

One of the key aspects of the project was familiarising RTSU project leaders and academic staff with the Open University’s (OU) experience of producing and presenting online practice-based courses during a five-day visit to the OU headquarters in Milton Keynes, UK in July of 2019.

The project also included consultancy work and training sessions, delivered to RTSU staff both online and face-to-face by Dr. Ruslan Ramanau, Lecturer in the Department of People and Organisations.

Funding

The project was supported by the World Bank and Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan.
