The Open University’s MBA Business Case Builder online tool has won two industry awards: Gold in the annual Heist Awards in the category of ‘Best use of innovation and creative thinking’ and Silver in the CASE Circle of Excellence Awards in the category of ‘Individual sub-websites’.
Launched earlier this year, the innovative and interactive MBA Case Builder tool enables prospective Open University Business School (OUBS) MBA candidates to create a personalised and compelling business case to their employer for why they should contribute towards their study fees. The simple technology helps individuals to make a strong case for why they have chosen to take the OU MBA, demonstrate the flexibility of the course, show how project work can be applied in their daily working life and how their studies will benefit the organisation.
We’re delighted to have won these two prestigious awards in the same year that we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our MBA programme.
With 40 per cent of our MBA students receiving sponsorship from their employers, the MBA Business Case Builder is a vital tool because it helps prospective applicants to demonstrate the value of taking our course to their organisation. These awards recognise the expertise of the OU in developing innovative and relevant technology that helps to transform the futures of our students.

OUBS has also developed the MBA Explorer iPad App (pictured). Unlike other MBA apps, which are micro-versions of the course websites, this one is full of interactive and media rich content, including a fee calculator, study readiness tests and sample study materials.
The one-stop shop revolutionises the way that prospective students research and decide which is the most suitable MBA for them by providing everything they need to know about the OU MBA.
