The Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership (CVSL) Conference, discussing key issues facing leaders in the voluntary sector, is being held in Milton Keynes at The Open University on Thursday 22 March.
There are some notable keynote speakers and interactive workshops from 09:45 until 16:15, followed by networking drinks and a canapés reception to close the first of what is hoped will become an annual event.
The Centre provides voluntary sector organisations with access to free and flexible leadership development courses and research-led insight to help strengthen the core of the sector at a time of unprecedented uncertainty and challenge.

Business leader and charity entrepreneur Ann is the first ever female chair of The Scout Association, the UK’s largest youth engagement charity. She is also chair of the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership (SEMLEP).
As founding CEO of the Foundation for Social Improvement (FSI), Pauline’s career has seen her work on campaigns with many of the most high-profile charities in the UK and abroad.
Professor of Collaborative Leadership and Associate Dean, Research and Scholarship at The Open University’s Faculty of Business and Law, Siv is also Chair of the Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership (CVSL). Her long standing research agenda, which has earned her several awards, focuses on governing, leading and managing inter-organisational collaboration.
Senior Lecturer in People Management and Organisation at The Open University Business School, Owain teaches and researches leadership and its development, primarily in the public and voluntary sectors.
Visiting Fellow at The Open University and sociologist who has worked in the voluntary sector in a variety of roles for over two decades, Fidèle was recently commissioned by the Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership (CVSL) to establish two local learning clubs for voluntary sector leadership training.
James Rees is Director and Anthony Nutt Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Voluntary Sector Leadership at The Open University Business School. His research focuses on the third sector, public service delivery and reform, as well as leadership, governance and citizen involvement. He has published widely on these topics including a recent edited collection for Policy Press.
