Virtual Launch of the Black Leadership and Empowerment Programme (BLEP)

Dates
Thursday, May 2, 2024 - 11:00 to 12:30
Location
Online

Following engagements with partners including Inclusive Companies and in line with The Open University’s social mission, the OU is pleased to announce the virtual launch of the Black Leadership and Empowerment Programme (BLEP).

The programme includes two new Openlearn resources: Introducing Black Leadership and Advancing Black Leadership and a 30-credit module (level one Undergraduate), Making your Learning Count at Work. The latter aims to help learners consolidate their learning and enhance their study skills. In addition to the standard OU teaching offer, BLEP learners will get support through learning clubs, where they will access informal mentoring, hear, and engage with inspirational speakers, and partake in peer-learning activities.

The Manchester BLEP Hub, launched recently, involves collaboration and partnership with a Community Partner – The Prince's Trust and two Corporate Partners – Manchester Airport Group and Autotrader.

During the webinar, you will learn more about the programme and, importantly, hear what motivated several stakeholders to participate in BLEP. The webinar will interest those engaged in leadership development, those working in the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion space, potential learners, and partners in future BLEP learning hubs.
