The demand on the voluntary sector continues to climb as the pandemic presses on and vaccinations are rolled out. The last 12 months have highlighted the crucial role the voluntary sector plays in our society. Voluntary sector organisations have contributed to the leadership of local pandemic responses, collaborating with voluntary and public sector partners to make a real difference to the lives of those most affected by COVID-19.

As we begin to see ‘light at the end of the tunnel’, CVSL's annual conference will look ahead to the future to explore what lies ahead for voluntary sector leadership. This free, online conference is an opportunity for members of the voluntary sector and academics to come together to learn, share and reflect. We will share insights from research and listen to voices from practice. We will explore the potential for collaboration between academia and the voluntary sector in developing leadership, will highlight the vital role Black and minority ethnic leaders play and explore leadership challenges faced by smaller charities.

A range of workshops will explore the opportunities and challenges of collaboration, ethics, how to develop leadership practice online and will provide opportunity for you to help shape CVSL’s future research and learning programme.

You will have an opportunity to hear the experiences of others, to make new connections and we hope, feel re-energised, ready for the ‘new normal’ we find ourselves entering.
