I am a Lecturer in the Department of Public Leadership & Social Enterprise at The Open University Business School. I joined OU in July 2018, before that I worked as a Senior Lecturer in University of Portsmouth. My research background is in the areas of Organisation Studies and Corporate Sustainability. I graduated with a PhD from the Centre for Leadership Studies, University of Exeter, and an MSc in Marketing from the University of Birmingham. Before moving to the UK, I worked as a managing consultant in China, gaining consultancy and cross-cultural management experience in the process. I also have a BSc in Business Administration from Donghua University (China Textile University) in Shanghai, China.
My research interest includes cultural understandings of Leadership, Corporate Sustainability, and the dynamics of translation and communication in process. I am also interested in Daoist (Taoist) representations of organising. I am particularly into organizational ethnography and visual methods.
I am interested in experiential learning through arts based methods. Currently I am part of a production team for an MBA module on leadership. I am chairing Module B325 Managing across organisational and cultural boundaries, and part of the team for an MBA Module B839 Making a difference: the management initiative.
